Z - Online Internet Glossary
Zip - Refers to a method of compacting related files into a single file with a 'ZIP' filename extension. The intent is to simplfy distribution of file groups. Once on the users computer, he or she must 'UNZIP' the file to actually extract and use the files inside it.
Zip Disk - A 3.5" removable cartridge used with the Iomega Zip drive.Zip disks can store 25MB or 200MB, and are used to back up data or transfer data from one computer to another.
Zone The last part of an Internet host name. If the zone is three letters long, it’s a code indicating the type of organization that owns the computer. If the zone-is two letters long, itt the country code in which the organization that owns the computer is located.

Zoom - A feature in many applications that allows the user to magnify a small area of the file (as if moving in closer: zoom in) or view more of the page with less detail (as if moving farther away: zoom out).The amount of zoom is usually shown as a percentage (25% size, 200% size) or ratio (2:1 means magnified to twice normal size; 1:2 means reduced to 1/2 size).
